WHO: The Grass Valley Elks is launching a NEW Drive –Thru, Bistro 538 ON-THE-GO, featuring delicious homemade comfort food. Chef Jamal Walker, formerly of Summer Thymes Bakery & Deli, is bringing his expertise to serve you fresh, hot, and hearty lunch meals.
WHAT: DRIVE-THRU GRAND OPENING Lunch Meal for only $12 (tax included). Bottled water or 21 oz. fountain drinks are available for $2 (Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Root Beer, Sprite, or Mountain Dew).
WHERE: Our Drive-Thru is located on the south side of the Elks building (109 S. School St.) in the downstairs area. Access is gained through the Bank of America parking lot from S. Church St. Follow the signs up the alley to the OPEN sign and double red door.
WHEN: Thursday’s Only From 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
WHY: Downtown area needs a Drive Thru. People are tired of eating cold take out food in Styrofoam containers. Our meals are packaged in a container with a tight seal to keep your meal hot.
HOW: Reserve your meal(s) by each Monday, (otherwise, it's first come, first served). Call (530) 205 0470 or email Bistro538@grassvalleyelks.org and provide the following:

Elks National Foundation
The foundation of Charity in all of Elkdom. This program funds not only the largest Scholarship program (non government) but has budgeted funds that support the Elks National Memorial & Headquarters - take a look.....
These endeavors as well as a host of national contest and essay competitions - all too numerous to mention.
Every year each Lodge has the privilege of applying for community grant dollars to serve local charities.
This year our Lodge has approved grant applications for the
Salvation Army's Youth Activity Center (indoors), and Hospitality House
Bill's Wheels - a project created by one of our most popular members - Bill Dobbins, it re-habs and gifts power chairs and mobility equipment to those in need.
Kare Krisis Nursery - to help fund needs for families in crisis. Our member Sara Woerner is the sweet muscle behind the effort to raise funds for this with her infamous "Sara's Pies
We should be sending this grant applications this week - so here's hoping we are sucessful at bringing much needed help to our community.
